🏐 Mirabilis Ganeshotsava: Women’s Throwball Guidelines

📅 Event Details & Timings:

• Date: 5th September 2026 (Saturday)

• Reporting Time: 7:40 AM, CA Site

• Matches Start: 8:00 AM sharp

Important Notes : Latest Rules and will applied during Games

1. TEAM COMPOSITION

• Each team shall consist of 7 active players on the court.

• A minimum of 7 players is mandatory to start a match.

2. MATCH FORMAT 

• Each match shall be played up to 21 rolling points. 

• The team scoring 21 points first shall be declared the winner.

3. TOSS & SERVICE 

• The toss determines serve or Court. 

• The winning team may choose to serve or Court first.

4. REPORTING & ATTENDANCE 

• Teams must report at least 30 minutes prior to their match. 

• Failure to report will result in forfeiture and the opponent will be declared the winner.

5. SERVICE RULES 

• Service must be taken from the right corner service box (1/3rd court width). 

• Player must wait for the referee’s whistle. 

• Ball must be released within 5 seconds.

• Serving before the whistle or delay is a foul. 

• Foot must not touch or cross the service line before release. 

• Service must be executed with one hand only. 

• Ball must not touch the net during service.

6. GAMEPLAY RULES 

• Ball must be released within 3 seconds. 

• Double touch (juggling) is not allowed. 

• A clean, single-player catch is required. 

• Two players cannot catch the ball together. 

• If the ball slips, another player may catch it. 

• Shifting the ball between hands is not allowed. 

• Shifting the ball between hands is permitted only for a centre catch. 

• 360-degree turning while throwing is prohibited. 

• Ball must be thrown from the same side it is caught. 

• There are no restrictions on player position or movement during the game.

7. MOVEMENT RULES 

• Players cannot jump while catching. 

• Jump throws are allowed. 

• Underarm throws are not allowed. 

8. NET & COURT RULES 

• Players must not touch the net. 

• Ball may touch the net during a rally (not during service). 

• Ball landing on the side-line or end-line is valid during Game or Service. 

• Ball touching net poles is a foul. 

• Players must not cross the net or obstruct opponents.

9. Service ROTATION RULE 

• Every player will have to serve in the order determined by the team.

10. TIMEOUTS

• No Timeouts allowed during the game

11. GENERAL FOULS 

• Double touch • Delay in service 

• Foot faults 

• Net touch 

• Illegal throws 

• Ball touching the body

12. FAIR PLAY & DISCIPLINE 

• Players must maintain sportsmanship at all times. 

• Respect referees and opponents. 

• Referee decisions are final.

Eligibility

• Exclusivity: Strictly open to women residing within the Mirabilis community.

• Age Criteria: Open to all female residents aged 18 years and above.

• Registration Type: Restricted to individual registrations only. No pre-formed teams, pairs, or group entries will be entertained.

Participant Rules & Player Participation Minimums

• Team Formation: All individual registrants will be pooled together. The Organizing Committee will form balanced teams with captains, and their decision on composition is final.

• Captain Selection: Team Captains will be appointed directly by the organizers based on leadership and experience.

• Attendance & Punctuality: All participants must report to the court 15 minutes prior to their scheduled match time.

• Kit & Attire: Players must wear appropriate sportswear and sports shoes. Non-marking shoes are highly recommended.
